The weaving is the art of crossing threads in an organised way.

These days, there are mechanical weaving machines that are capable of producing kilometers of fabrics with a very low human intervention, that run all through the day and night and that use low or non-natural materials, which leaves more than one disappointed.

When one talks about fabrics created in a totally spanish artistic form, one refers to a work in a state of extinction that is condemned to be forgotten. Forgotten because of the capitalistic globalization that we are forced to evolve in. For this reason, the opportunities to make the most of a so old a profession such as weaving are becoming constanltly rarer. Inescapabaly, it needs more than a group of curious people who conform themselves to seeing colourful hanks and immobile weaving objects, and who ignore that all of this in movement is capable of creating autentical art works.

In our workshop of artistic textiles:

• the raw materials are natural fibres of the highest quality : those of natural origin like those of animal origin.
• Each one of our works is unique.
• The pieces are unique and innovatory but they respect all of the traditionnal and technical millenium aspects.
• The articles don't show any problems in regards to washing and ironing.

TAPESTRY LOOMS
These are vertical “telares” that are used to thread carpets. The warp is disposed in a vertical way. The work is tough in regards to the realization of the piece, all through the previous steps that one has to follow to realize the cardboard and the drawing.
The knots employed in this type of weaving are : “tafetan”, “sarga”, “turkish knot”, “spanish knot”, “canutillo”, “cadeneta”, “mota”….
The tapestry looms weaving offers more possibility in regards to the fabrics, the sizes and the drawings.

TREADLE LOOMS
The treadle looms weavings are those where the fabric is worked on in a vertical way. (this being, the warp is also disposed that way).
Depending of the drawing and of the fabric that one wants to carry out, and of its function, the weaver will make use of a type of proceedure or of an other which will give variations in the order of manufactering, in the number of threads, of pedals, of looms marks…
This type of weaving is made to achieve fabrics that will be finalised later on and that will define the type of utility that they will have : blanket, bed cover, cushion, shawl, towels, table cloth…
After all, it is made use more in the confectionning of home clothes and complementary ustensiles.

MACRAMÉ
This method doesn't require any type of fabric, just some sort of a support, threads that can be varied and a good number a knots : “cords”, “flat knot”, “turkish head”, “monkey fist”, “josefine” and a never ending list of other varieties.
Its functionnality is most of the time decorative and ornemental.
